The Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation, in cooperation with PMA districts, are offering scholarships of $1,000 or more to individuals seeking a career in the metalforming industry. Each award is for one year and will be granted based on academic merit. Post-secondary students may reapply for consideration the following year. No applicant may receive more than two scholarship awards. Graduate students, trades job training, certificate program and apprentice applicants are limited to one award.
Eligibility
The applicant must have fulfilled the proper requirements for consideration of the scholarship as listed below:
The applicant must be a high school senior or current post secondary student; enrolled in metalforming/manufacturing/technology/engineering program; trades/job training/apprenticeship or machining; CNC; tool and die; welding or stamping certificate program or an accredited institution with 20 or more contact hours.
The applicant must have a minimum of one manufacturing related course in high school.
The applicant must be pursuing further education for a career related to manufacturing in a post-secondary educational institute, trade/tech school, or apprenticeship program
Two letters of recommendation: One from your technology and engineer teacher or instructor; One from a recent or current employer
250- 500 word personal statement with the focus around manufacturing experiences topics to consider: include career plans, long range aspirations, special achievements and honors, employment experience and why you think you'd be a good recipient of the award
Optional - compliment your personal statement with a 2 minute video on your interest in the manufacturing field and would be a good recipient of the award.
Post secondary, apprentice and advanced degree applicants need to submit a current academic transcript (an official student copy is acceptable)
